About

The Winchester Archaeology Society is open to all, whether you're studying Archaeology, History, or something entirely different! We're a friendly bunch, committed to digging, hard work and righting various wrongs in history over a pint in the local. Our specialisms range right from the beginning of human bipedalism to the rustiest WWI artefacts, and everything in between. Whether you're more interested in soil sampling, human osteoarchaeology or historical documents, you'll find enthusiastic conversations here - and heated debates!

If you're interested in joining the Society, have a look at our Facebook page, email one of the committee or pop down to Medecroft where you can find us scrubbing pot in the Finds Room. If drinking isn't your thing, we're currently planning exciting trips and events for 2012 - check back on this website to stay informed!
